Can't wait to see the pictures.  Ray (also in this forum) makes great reproduction sight cover screws and also does excellent sight covers and saddle buckets.

It could perhaps in theory represent Queensland, however the Qld arty carbs are marked either QP (Qld Police) or QG (Qld Govt) the later is most commonly seen & I doubt anyway that it is a Qld arm...

Not like any Canadian tang markings I have ever seen ...... Considering the India issue mark on the lockplate, I'd be inclined to think of possible units there .....

There are no other marks on the carbine that I can find.  It does have the butt trap for cleaning rod sections.  I did not know about the India issue mark.  It is always fun to learn something new.Vern
